In 2008 my wife and I went to Vienna to attend the Unconventional Computation 2008 conference. We had the usual scare about the trip with the Visa coming only one day before the trip..anyhow we had all the papers necessary with us when we boarded the Austrian Airlines flight to Vienna. One good thing about this flight was that it had a PTV, so  that i could watch where we were headed.

Vienna is a model city. It's spacious, clean, full of historical landmarks, scenic spots and modern conveniences and style. It's amazing public transport system was what i liked best - wherever you want to go, hop in and off a metro train, tram or bus. They were so frequent that it seemed they were coming just for you. I hope I can live in Vienna some day.

In 2008 the rainy season was normal, i.e. to say quite heavy - and very irritating. CLothes would never dry, and it was so slushy and dirty outside.

We moved to a bigger B Type apartment withing IIT. Even though it is right next to the road with all the traffic, at least it is spacious and has enough space for us. We even conducted a Bhajan in our house with a big attendance of around 50 members.

What a job!

I am now with the Deutsche Bank Group.

SNIPPETS

Read William Wordsworth's 'Lines written a few miles above Tintern Abbey' - beautiful poetry.

My favourite spots in Vienna were the historic City Centre, the Schonbrunn palace grounds, the donau insel and Alte Donau and the Prater Stern. I especially liked the Prater Stern - a lovely big public park. I have not seen NY's Central Park, but this was very lovely.
